MATTRESS RECYCLING PROCESSES
Handling & Recycling Waste Mattresses
Mixed Waste that we collect (or you bring to us) is processed, validated and sorted at our Waste Recycling Centre. Mattresses are identified, separated and graded by our waste handling operators. Your waste is then bulked up and prepared for re-use / recycling / transport to our suppliers.
Example uses of the Mattresses that we recycle:
Reuse – Where possible, we try to find new homes for all materials.
Cleaning – Waste Mattresses can be used for cleaning industrial surfaces and our Waste Transfer Station.
Industrial Uses – Cleaning, bunding, spill prevention applications.
Secondary Fuel Source – Soiled / destroyed mattresses have no safe use and therfore are dictated by legislation to be incinerated. Our Energy From Waste suppliers produce energy for local housing/businesses and the National Grid.
